Great things happening this year! Celebrating 10 YEARS!
Event Details
For the new folks, this is a charity driven memorial lap around I-465 starting and ending on the west side. We generally have anywhere from 150-300 on this event depending on weather. The lap will start and end at the 86th street - Traders Point Shopping Center on the west side. The lap is open to all makes and models of vehicles... We also are open to car clubs/groups running together. (Preferred)
We will have special designated parking areas for certain clubs if they bring 10+ people. These car clubs also will be placed at the front of the lap for organizational purposes. We will need to know in advance your club name and estimated amount of people, that way we can get your designated parking areas to you. You will need to register early, as well as arrive early the day of the event... so please get these to us ASAP!
New this year, we've put in place "Cruise-In" tickets. Some folks want to be involved in the charity, as well as be involved in the event... However dont want to do the full lap around 465. Thats awesome! We would still like to plan ahead and make sure there is adequate parking for you! We have created a ticket specifiically for you! Please see at the registration link below!
The charity this year was chosen to go toward fallen Southport Police officer, Lt Allan and family. In support of this, Southport Police Department will be providing a FULL ESCORT this year around 465. Although this event is free, we will be collecting donations, as well as donations on a percentage of sales from the local restaurants (see below for details). All proceeds collected will go to the chosen charity.
We are currently looking for sponsors that will pay for the POLICE OFFICERS on site helping with traffic and escorting the lap. We should have at least three or four officers to assist us getting onto 465, and escoring the lap to monitor all activity and be there for safety. The amount of officers we get will be decided with how many sponsorships we get, as well as how many registrations come through. Ultimately your safety is your responsibility, and ask that you all act like adults on this lap and follow all the rules. We will keep you p
