For the past 10 months, a small group of dedicated military veterans have explored the theme of evolution through art-making. Work in the exhibition ArtTroop: Transformance, a part of the Spirit & Place Festival, will show viewers how the creative process can express the progression of triumphs, hardships, and community that come with being a military veteran. ArtTroop: Transformance will open on October 19, with a special viewing for veteran students during the Veterans Art Day luncheon. Veterans should contact the Indianapolis Art Center directly to learn about special offerings (including free workshops and a luncheon) being offered on Saturday, Nov. 2.
