Description
Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a traditional Mexican holiday that celebrates deceased family members through music, storytelling, food, and ofrendas (altars).
Event Details
Join us to learn more about this Mexican holiday and partake in the traditions by enjoying cultural music & storytelling, creating Mexican-inspired crafts, trying traditional food, and more! Share a photo, drawing, or stories about your deceased loved ones by adding to our community wall. Guests are encouraged to dress up in traditional outfits and face paint and join us for a parade through Garfield Park at the end of the event. Día de Muertos face painting will also be available on-site during the event, as well as local artists who will be selling or helping you create Mexican-inspired crafts!

Dancing, music, and entertainment by Grupo Folclórico Macehuani. A variety of food and drinks will be provided by local vendors including Garfield Brewery, Don Gusto P.J, Mr. Tequila's Cantina & Grill Indianapolis, and Artisan Bakery and Pastries.

Día de Muertos is a joyful event celebrating the lives of family and friends who have passed away. Along with offering traditional food, music and dance, our event honors the deceased by posting memories on a memorial wall. Now through October 31st, feel free to post pictures, stories and drawings of your lost loved ones here on this Facebook event page. We will add your posts to our memorial wall to honor their memory at our event. You can also email us photos and stories at GPAC@Indy.Gov or bring them with you to our event.
