Description
For the past 45 years, each second weekend of September the German American Klub has turned historic German Park on Indy’s south side into Indy’s "Theresienwiese", the legendary grounds in Munich that hosts the world famous Oktoberfest.
Event Details
At some 5000 visitors annually over 3 days, The German American Klub brings you the most authentic Oktoberfest in Indianapolis. GAK Oktoberfest is sponsored by the Paulaner Brewery of Munich, and we’ll be featuring their family of outstanding biers including the Oktoberfest-Märzen and the limited-release 2019 Festbier (AKA, the “wiesn”)—the only place in Indianapolis you can find it on tap! We will also be featuring many other authentic biers on tap, and in bottles. There will be carnival rides in a beautiful and safe park environment to keep the children entertained. Twelve live bands over three days including an Alpine horn demonstration. Great German food will be available throughout the park and Edelweiss restaurant. There will be something for everyone in the family, so come out and join us—you may think you just landed in Munich, but you only have to travel to the south side of Indianapolis in beautiful German Park
